Stewart L Gudmundsen of Midland, MI passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Woodland Hospice Home following a long struggle with Lewy Human body Dementia (LBD)
Stewart “Stu” was born on June 10, 1938 in Payson, Utah, the son of Lagrande and Alice Genevieve (nee Stewart) Gudmundsen. In 1963, he married Patricia Ann Watts in the Logan, Utah temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Soon just after his graduation in 1964 from Brigham Youthful University with a bachelor’s diploma, he and Patricia moved to Midland, Michigan. He worked as a chemical engineer at Dow Chemical right until his retirement in 1999.
He served a mission in Denmark for the LDS church (circa 1959-1961) and served a next mission with his wife (2000-2001) in Las Vegas. He served faithfully in many capacities in his church and was constantly willing to support a neighbor and his neighborhood. Stewart and Patricia volunteered for 9 years at Midland County Senior Solutions. He savored playing the piano and the organ, tennis, bike using, corny jokes and flicks. Previously mentioned all, he liked investing time with his spouse and children and traveling to go to them across the state. He was identified and cherished for his form, gentle, enjoyable-loving character as well as his company testimony in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
People Stewart leaves powering to cherish his memory consist of his wife, Patricia four young children, Jenny (David) Griffes of North Carolina, Dennis (Lori) Gudmundsen of Wisconsin Gary (Sara) Gudmundsen of Michigan and Kirsten (Harry) Peless of Michigan and a son-in-regulation, Jon Alexander of Wisconsin. He also leaves behind grandchildren/great grandchildren, Benjamin Griffes (Andie and Aspen), Erika Hernanez (Robert, Rosalinda, and Roberto), Cory, Nicole (Blake) Rusick Kelcey Dorzok (Danny, Anya, Ada, Anora), Brooke (Benjamin, Renee,Elliot) McDaniel, Genna Alexander, Jacob Alexander Jacob (Isabella) Gudmundsen, Javin Gudmundsen, Abigail Gudmundsen, Autumn Gudmundsen, Ethan Gudmundsen Harry Peless, Samantha Peless, and Alex Gudmundsen, as well as numerous more friends and family.
He was preceded in loss of life by his moms and dads, his daughter Lisa Alexander, and two sisters, Gloria and Betty Jean.
Funeral solutions will be held Friday, September 3, 2021, 12 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Working day Saints, 1700 W. Sugnet Street, Midland, MI. A graveside service will observe at the Midland Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 11 am-11:45 am at the Church.
