MIDLAND, TX – Gerald Dennis Laney, 80, of Midland, TX passed away on August 14, 2021 at Midland Memorial Medical center in Midland, Texas.

Gerald Dennis Laney was born in Kilmichael, Mississippi, in 1940. Immediately after graduating from Major Black Significant University in Kilmichael, he joined the National Guard. He is survived by 5 children: Nandra Dennis (Sam) of Hempstead, TX, Stephanie Laney (Mary Sanchez) of Midland, TX, Chasiti Baker (Bruce) of Midland, TX, Amanda Dickson (Steven) of Midland, TX, and Isreal Patino of Odessa, TX nine grandchildren: Laney DeShelter (Craig), Madilyn Laney, Jacob Laney, Bryan Baker, Matthew Sanchez, Chicago Dickson, Providence Dickson, Mikalyn Fossett, and Sofia Patino a few siblings: Curtis Laney (Lilly), Sherry Thompson (Donald Ray), and Ginger Wolfe (Freddy) and his Terrific Grandson, Breon Laney Good Granddaughter Mili Sanchez Great Granddaughter Ella Sanchez Fantastic Grandson Ashton Sanchez and Excellent Grandson Daniel Stowe.

He is preceded in dying by: his mothers and fathers, Elizabeth (Campbell), J. W., and Elizabeth (Campbell) Laney.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at American Heritage Funeral House in Midland, TX.

Funeral expert services will be on Friday, August 27th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at American Heritage Funeral Property with Talor Nunez officiating. Burial will choose put at American Heritage Cemetery.

Preparations are entrusted to American Heritage Cemetery Funeral House Crematory in Midland, Texas.
